In the Bahamas, there’s a beautiful spot called Rose Island. It’s like a hidden gem with crystal-clear blue water and soft, sandy beaches. At J.Co Charters, we take people there on special boat rides. You can swim, look at fish with a special mask called snorkelling, and have fun on the beach. But the best part? You get to meet pigs that can swim! Come with us and have an amazing time at Rose Island, creating memories you’ll never forget.
The swimming pigs of Rose Island are a popular attraction in the Bahamas. These pigs are known for their unique behavior of swimming in the crystal-clear waters. Not to be mistaken with world famous “Exuma swimming pigs” or “Bahamian swimming pigs.” The swimming pigs of Rose Island is a 15 min boat ride vs the longer excursions going into the Exumas.
The exact origin of these pigs in the Bahamas is somewhat of a mystery, with several theories suggesting they were either left by sailors or placed on the island by locals to attract tourists. Regardless of their origins, the swimming pigs have become a major tourist attraction, drawing visitors from around the world.
You can visit the island to swim with, feed, and take photos with these friendly and charismatic pigs. It’s important to note that while it can be an enjoyable experience, it’s essential to treat these animals with respect and care for their well-being.
